Reagan and the Pope, Together Again...
...and still pissing me off.
So I posted my petty pissings about Reagan's death last year and apparently someone at the Vatican read it and decided to have some fun with me.
It turns out back in 1981, the attempt on the Gipper's life wasn't the only shooting that interrupted my soap opera viewing. A month and a half later, someone took at shot at John Paul II, and yet again interrupted the Guiding Light. Then 24 years later, he dies and interrupts my soccer game. They announced his death just before the 3:00 start of the game, and ABC ended their coverage exactly two hours later, just in time for some horse racing. Fuckers. Of course had I been home I could have switched over to ESPN where they apparently moved it, but my Tivo isn't that smart. Fucking Tivo. I have two hours of ABC's dead Pope coverage if anyone wants it.
I know I'm being petty and there are millions and millions of people around the world who had much more to be upset about -- the Chivas USA fans whose team lost, and all the other soccer fans whose team wasn't even on TV. And of course all the Catholics all over the world who don't even have Tivo.
I wonder if the Pope will be resurrected... if so, look for him to make an appearance Wednesday night at about 7:30.

I don't think they're into reincarnation, but resurrection seems fairly central, at least for that Jewish guy.

And by "slept", I mean of course, "was way too fucking stoned to remember I'd registered for it".
