Election Fun
Marion Barry gets elected again, and Ralphie Boy can't get on a state ballot.
When Barry dies, D.C. will suffer through a funeral the like it has never seen. Thought Reagan's was a huge? Uh-uh. It'll be like a combination of that and Harold Washington's.
The diversion last night while waiting for our friends at the D.C. Board of Elections and some other E-word to figure out how to count was to think of headlines the New York Post would use to announce Barry's victory.
Colleague offers, "THE VOTERS SET HIM UP."
I parry: "BARRY DEALS INCUMBENT HARSH BLOW."
"BARRY FIRES UP VOTERS," thrusts the colleague.
I dodge then feint with "FORMER MAYOR RESIN-EIGHTS WITH CONSTITUENTS."
And then we went back to work.
Bring it.
P.S. Ok, technically it was a primary, so there is still November, but come on. I don't even think Zombie Reagan could defeat Barry in Ward 8. Unless Argento were mayor.

Ralphie boy would do everyone a huge favor if he'd just disappear for 4 more years, so let's not get sentimental for him.

Dunno anyone who's getting sentimental over Ralphie except for the occasional patchouli wearing treefucker.
